As we near the end of May, especially here in Texas, the temperature is rising and we know it’s almost June – June means summer time! Summer is recognized for lots of fun things – school is out, children are playing, ice cream trucks are coming through, families are taking vacations and spending days at the beach, and many other fun images come to mind.
For especially the last several years, however, the month of June has also come to be a time when a large part of our country – those who would encourage us to not only break the laws of God, but to take “pride” in breaking the laws of God – put rainbows everywhere and seek to force their agenda on all of society. This movement does not allow a neutral position. Those who will not accept, or celebrate, their breaking of God’s law are labelled as “hateful”, or “discriminatory”. You can see our article, Love, Hate, and a Deadly Snake for a discussion on how to tell the difference in love and hate, but still, we are often accused of hate if we don’t embrace and celebrate their ideas.
June is also now a time when businesses may be easily categorized as those who actively support this agenda, and those that don’t. Simply walk inside, or maybe even just drive by, and you will likely see evidence in the windows or the displays. I would encourage us all to use this time to observe and make decisions of where we will shop – or not shop – all year! Unfortunately, as we discussed in our article, What is the Standard Measurement, we also see local, municipal governments taking sides on the issue as well, and too often coming down on the wrong side of it.
God said!
Someone might ask, “What is so wrong with homosexuality and the LGBT movement anyway?” There are lots of things that come to mind, but this is how I answer that question. God made us male and female (Gen 1:27). God created the institution of marriage (Gen 2:24). God created marriage to mirror the relationship between the Lord Jesus Christ, and His bride, the church. (Eph 5:31-32)
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Ephesians 5:31-32
Therefore, if we seek to change God’s design for gender and marriage, we are distorting and polluting the model He gave us to be able to understand the relationship between Jesus and His church. I think this is a bad thing for us to do. I think we don’t even fully realize how bad this is for us to do. I wonder if this is why homosexuality was a capital offense under the Law of God. (Lev 20:13) We discard these huge truths from God’s Word and somehow think we have full rights to change whatever we want from God’s purpose and design. Of course, this is in contrast to our founders who declared to the world that our rights come from God, and that governments are instituted to secure those rights. So, if someone believes they have a right to something God hates, it is interesting to ask where those rights came from. The Declaration of Independence says God is the source of our rights. God doesn’t give rights to things that were capital offenses under His law.
So, for those of us who value America’s Christian heritage, June is a time to fight. June is the time to go speak up at your local County Commissioner’s Court, or City Council, or School Board meetings against inappropriate books being made available for our children. June is a time when we recognize, like no other time, that traditional families and traditional values are under relentless attack. May we all stand strong for the Laws of God, and for traditional, Biblical, definitions of relationships, marriages, and gender, that He established for us to live by.
June is life month!
Two years ago, on June 24, 2022, an amazing thing happened. The Supreme Court of the United States overthrew the murderous legal precedent of Roe vs Wade, ending a period of nearly 50 years where the evil practice of killing children in the mother’s womb enjoyed legal protection at the federal level in this country. According to an article on the National Right to Life website dated January 2023, over 64.4 million babies had been killed in their mother’s womb since 1973. When this Roe vs Wade legal precedent was overturned in June 2022, my son told me, “Now June isn’t pride month anymore, now June is Life Month!” I love that… Of course, that does not mean abortions no longer happen in the United States, but it does mean that we have something wonderful to celebrate in June! We called the graphic artist for a T-shirt design… 😊
We now invite you to celebrate with us each June, not in activity that God, the source of American rights and Liberties, hates and strictly prohibits, but in the overturning of a legal precedent that directly paved the way for the senseless murder of over 64 million Americans over the last 50 years or so.
June is life month! Help us spread the word!
