Week 10 Resources
Lives of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence – 1848 reprint WallBuilders
Another great reprint, this one from 1848, that does a brief biographical sketch of each of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence. Great way to learn more about these incredible men.
5000 Year Leap by W. Cleon Skousen
This gem of a book covers 28 founding principles found in the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. Another “must read” book if you love these kinds of things.
If You Can Keep It: The Forgotten Promise of American Liberty – by Eric Metaxes
Ok. If you have been paying attention in class, you know I am a big Eric Metaxes fan. Jason loved this book and told our family about it as he read it.
Foundations for Freedom – A Study of the United States Constitution – Christian Liberty Press
This is a textbook and a reference book. It gives a brief background of the Declaration and Constitution and then it takes every Article and Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and explains it line by line. The colorful charts, pictures, and graphs only add to the ability to easily understand. It also uses historical documents and Supreme Court decisions to illustrate points and it includes examples of the influence of Christianity on the founding of our nation. This is a great resource to have on hand.
